Co-development
Developing molded parts in collaboration with our clients greatly improves the ability to produce them. Our engineers in the Design Office or Methods Department explore every way to enhance the manufacturing of parts, simplify them, and reduce costs. Limit thicknesses according to stress distribution, reduce weight by integrating cores.
Involving us in the design of a new component at an early stage allows us to improve the productivity of the series product and thus reduce costs. We convert your welded assemblies into more compact molded parts that offer possibilities for more complex shapes. Take advantage of this expertise to combine as many functions as possible into a single part.
From the specifications to the finished part, our team masters the tools required at every stage of design: CAD (Computer-Aided Design) with SolidWorks, computer-assisted mold filling and solidification simulation with Inspire Cast, CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) with SolidCAM, strength calculations, and 3D printing.
Rapid prototyping
We offer our clients the benefits of 3D printing technology (Vhm RÉALISATIONS 3D, link to website) to create resin prototypes for commercial, marketing, and functional validation. This additive manufacturing process allows you to produce, in a short time, the tooling needed to create a "true-material" prototype. Within just a few days, you receive your prototypes cast, machined, painted, and assembled.

Choice of Cast Iron Grade
We assist you in selecting the appropriate cast iron grade based on the intended application of your parts.
- EN-GJL Gray Cast Iron: Excellent machinability, vibration damping, resistant to thermal shocks and high-temperature oxidation. Provides excellent sealing for hydraulic applications. Used for all mechanical parts and machine tool frames.
- EN-GJS Ductile (Spheroidal) Cast Iron: Very high mechanical strength, impact resistance, and wear resistance. Good resilience. Used for water distribution systems and mechanical parts such as housings, brackets, and suspension arms.
- Ni-Hard Cast Iron: Excellent resistance to abrasion and erosion. Used for crushing and transporting abrasive materials.
- Ni-Resist Cast Iron: Excellent corrosion resistance, even at low and high temperatures. Used for pumps.
- Chrome Cast Iron: Very high hardness and oxidation resistance, even at high temperatures. Used for furnace thresholds and conveyors.
- Silicon Cast Iron: Very high resistance to deformation and oxidation at high temperatures.

QUALITY CONTROL
The manufacturing and assembly of our foundry and machining parts are controlled according to the ISO 9001:2015 quality process. Vhm FONDERIE produces finished products that meet the highest quality standards. All procedures are implemented to ensure quality monitoring through inspections. Consequently, at every stage of the manufacturing process, we carry out rigorous quality monitoring of parts and processes. To meet the client’s specifications, we perform the following inspections:
- Analysis and characterization of molding sands,
- Thermal analysis and spectrometry of metallurgical composition:
- Structure inspection through micrography:
- Mechanical and dimensional characteristics (conventional inspection and 3D optical machine):
- Shot blasting analysis and characterization:
- Coating thickness and adhesion inspection:
- Air tightness / porosity testing,
- Non-destructive testing: dye penetrant, ultrasonic thickness measurement, X-ray inspection, magnetic particle inspection.
Upon request, we can provide a 3.1 material certificate according to the EN 10204 standard to certify manufacturing control. Beyond analyses, and guided by our philosophy of continuous improvement, our quality control approach aims to identify anomalies, determine their causes, and implement solutions. Consequently, throughout the entire production chain, Vhm FONDERIE ensures quality monitoring in compliance with market requirements, standards, and client specifications.

Complete solution from raw casting to finished product
Vhm FONDERIE is committed to strengthening its role as a partner supplier by offering you a complete solution designed to save you time and simplify your processes. We place all our expertise at your service, from supplying raw cast iron parts to final assembly, including technical support and mechanical subcontracting operations.
A single point of contact manages every stage of production to deliver a fully finished and inspected product.
The scope of our services meets all your requirements:
- Expertise: our qualified technical team advises you on the choice of manufacturing process and materials. They provide their expertise to optimize the development and production of your parts, in compliance with your specifications.
- Foundry: our cast iron foundry produces grey iron or ductile iron (SG iron) parts ranging from a few grams to one tonne using sand casting. The facility is designed for the production of single castings as well as small and medium series.
- Machining: we operate a range of CNC and conventional machining equipment to handle milling, turning, and drilling operations on parts with even the most complex shapes, in both hard and soft materials (cast iron, bronze, brass, steel, stainless steel, aluminium).
- Fabrication & welding: we are able to carry out all types of fabrication and welding subcontracting work. Our equipment allows us to work with steel, stainless steel, and aluminium to produce welded assemblies as single units or in small series.
- Additional services: as a global supplier of finished products, we integrate a range of complementary services such as heat treatment, surface coating, assembly, leak testing, and logistics.
- Quality control: we perform quality inspections of your products according to your requirements. Our teams use comprehensive and high-performance inspection equipment to carry out all analyses required for precise quality monitoring.
